It’s getting harder and harder to stand out of the crowd and be heard on twitter, with more and more people joining each day, with so many people wanting to share and rewteet posts they find are interesting. Hashtags can be a great way of cutting through all that noise and standing out, providing you are careful not to overuse them in your posts. As a brand or business, hashtags can possibly multiply your exposure and your sales if used correctly, in order to reach a specific audience.

Personally, I enjoy using hashtags in my twitter posts, but I’m always mindful of how many hashtags I use in the one post, I think a good rule of thumb would be not to use more than three hashtags in any one post, anymore than that, I think your post can seem messy and noisy..like a someone begging for attention. – Do you agree?
