Pinterest – there’s loads of inspiration and ideas on Pinterest, I often get a lot of my inspiration from pins I like on there.

Twitter – If you have a twitter account, have a look at what’s trending, and what most people are talking about in your timeline, or perhaps there’s a post that stands out that you can talk about.

News – is there something in today’s news that you want to talk about perhaps?

YouTube – There are loads of interesting and inspiring videos on YouTube. Got a favorite music clip? Why not post it and tell your readers why you like it so much.

Magazines – Flick through your favorite mag, and see if there’s a story you like, that you can talk about.

Other blog posts – See what’s trending in other blog posts…like the sound of  a blog post? Why not write about it?

Google Plus – Google Plus is another rapidly growing social platform that a lot of people love. Check out what’s trending or a topic you like and see if there’s a post that inspires you.

Television – What’s your favorite tv show? Why not talk about it, and spark a conversation on why you like it. Or on the contrary, is there a tv show that really gets under your skin? Why not discuss it.

Your favorite book – What’s your favorite book? – Why not tell your readers about it, or perhaps you’re reading a great book right now? – What are you liking so much about it?  Your readers will be intrigued!

Movies – Seen a good or bad movie lately? Why did/didn’t you like it? Movie reviews are always worth a read.

Only You Hold the Key to Your Dreams….

That’s just it!

The more I blog, the more confidence it gives me, and the more I love it! I started blogging unsure of where it would take me a few months ago, but in the past few days, and after reading numerous other blogs, it has encouraged me to stick to my guns and keep writing.

I really do believe that we all hold the ‘key’ to our dreams, you just need to really pay attention and zone into what exactly your dreams and goals are, and spend every single moment you can working towards them. Be excited about your goals! – Tell people about them, and make the most of every situation, – i.e if your with your friends, talk about your blog (if you have one) and perhaps even hand out little business cards, or if you like just exchange details with them on the spot, using your mobile phone. When people hear and see how excited you are about your website or blog, they will be eager to check out your site and perhaps even tell their friends about it.

Wake up every single morning believing in your dreams! Never ever, for one single moment think they wont come true…because there really is a light at the end of the tunnel, and a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow!!

Now I’ve said all this because I know exactly just what it’s going to take for me to reach my goals, and I’m simply just following my own heart and intuition, knowing that if other people have done what I’m doing and are making a nice lucrative income for themselves, there is absolutely no reason in the world why I can’t do the same, hey!

Anyway, Over to you – What do you think, do you agree with me? Your thoughts and comments are truly appreciated, and thank you so much for reading! 🙂

How to Focus On Those ‘Cloudy Days’

Ever had days when your head is just so clouded with stuff, that you just can’t seem to focus and no matter how many cups of tea of coffee you have, you just can’t think straight??  – Well if you’re human, you probably have!! (I think it’s only human, that we have those days, occasionally.)

Here are a few tips that might just help you focus a little better on those ‘cloudy days’

Cut out Distractions – Stop and have a look around and think about what could be distracting you, is the tv, or radio on in the background?  I tend to like having my favorite music on in the background, while I work, although sometimes it can be a distraction, and I tend not to get much work done, think for a minute, what might be possibly distracting you and simply remove yourself from it while you work.

Make a list – Writing a ‘to-do’ list can help you focus and think about what you want to achieve in the day, and can help remind you of what needs to get done. The same can be said for with your blog, think of a few blog topics, or posts you would like to write about and list them, I have a fairly long list of ideas for my blog posts, that I often think about when I’m not in front of my laptop, that I keep with me,  in a handy list on my mobile phone.

Stay organized – Is the room you’re working in, a little untidy?  I  personally find that I can’t seem to think straight, if the area around where I am working is untidy, and I know that there’s a mountain of house work to be done. But we are all different, with different levels of concentration, so for me, I prefer to work in a tidy workspace, but you might find it comfortable. Do what ever chores that need to get done, and get them out the road.

Take a break – Make  yourself a cuppa tea or coffee and relax for 5 minutes or so. – It might just be what you need!

Set a side a time to write – This is a great idea to do, to get yourself into a routine of getting your blog posting done, so you won’t find yourself stuck in front of the computer all day.

Get up and move – Go for a 15-20 min walk or just simply have a good stretch and walk around…sometimes the best ideas come to you when you’re not in front of the computer.

Know your limits – Some days, your head just might not be in it at all, no matter how hard you try…be easy on yourself!

Have some fun! – Who ever said that blogging had to always be serious? – have some fun with it, search the internet for some fun and interesting blog ideas, be creative…it’s not going to hurt to go a little off topic every now and then, and it gives your readers a little insight into your personality!

Do you agree? what helps you get by on those ‘cloudy days’?

#BloggingTip – Keep Calm and Power On!

“The Road to success is dotted with many parking places” – Author Unknown.

If you’re just starting out blogging, or even if you’re a bit of an expert at blogging, you would have had many late nights, constantly thinking about your blog, thinking of what to write about next. – yes??

Well, like a lot of you…I’m only just starting out with my blog posts, – and loving it too, by the way!! But I seem to be having quite a few of those anxious nights, where I can’t sleep, and am constantly thinking of new blog post ideas. – It’s almost as if I have a “blogging virus” – I can spend hours at night sometimes, thinking about what to write about, ways of connecting with people and expanding my community of readers.

You see, I think I am a bit of a social butterfly..and love connecting with people…that’s just what makes me enjoy social media so much. Since I really love it so much, it only just makes sense to me, to make a career from it if I can, and I know that success won’t happen over night, and I’m not going to let the really sleepy days after a night with no sleep, drag me down! I’m sticking to my guns and powering on….because, to be quite honest, I really couldn’t imagine myself doing and loving anything else, as much as I love writing my blogs and interacting with people in social media…it almost feels like I was born to do it!

My posts might seem a little short, but I’m sure with time and the more I write, the words will simply just flow…but at the same token, I’m not a huge fan of long blog posts, sometimes it just seems like the writer is just rambling, to fill up their post with words so it looks appealing. – You can beg to differ if you like, but it’s just how I feel.

I think with blogging becoming more and more popular, your blog not only has to look appealing with bright and colourful images, – content in posts, plays a huge part in catching the reader’s eye, but you really only have (in my opinion) roughly about 10-15 seconds to grab the readers attention with your post, so how you write and what you write is just as important (or if not more) of catching the reader’s attention.

Now, I feel like I’m starting to ramble…so over to you….what are your thoughts? and I hope you’ve enjoyed my post 🙂  xo

Blogging…Sometimes You’ve Just Gotta Roll With The Punches

cute boy with writers block images

Sometimes with blogging you will have your really great days, where you will get on a roll and ideas just seem to flow really easy, and other days, (I’m sure you’ll have a few of them, if you haven’t already) you will feel empty and stuck, but unfortunately you’ve really just have to take the good with the bad, and roll with it.

Here are a few ideas that might help when you’re stuck

– Try doing a Google search eg – type in social media and see what other suggestions come up.

– See what topics are trending on Facebook, Twitter, Google+ etc,…

– Have a workout!! – Some of the best ideas can come to you when you work out,  – I got the idea to write this post while I was working up a sweat on the treadmill!

– Read other blog posts – some really great ideas can come from other blogs.

– Watch or read the news and find out what’s happening in the world – Some good ideas can come from having your say on what’s happening in the news, and it allows others to have their say and voice their opinions on what you think.

– Relax and don’t stress..take a break and ‘slap hog’ (as I say) – thoughts will come!! – ideas won’t come to you when you stress out and panic over it!

What do you do when you’re stuck for ideas? – I would love to hear from you! 🙂

Is There a Right Time to Post in Social Media?

time flying awayWell, I kind of think the right time to post in social media is debatable, (forgive me if you think I’m wrong) because with the power of the internet and technology (i.e. smart phones and portable tablets)  it makes it easy to post when ever and where ever you like. Mind you, I have found that there is heap of articles and posts out there that say otherwise. For me though, I have found with anything I do or post in social media, has to be consistent, so I have found myself spending countless hours throughout the day, writing blog posts and connecting with people..but its just how I roll, and I love it!

So, in case you’re not sure when to post, or you’re wondering why you don’t seem to be getting any feedback on your posts, this info-graphic may help…

What do YOU think, What are your thoughts on the right time to post, Do you have a preferred time to post?

Practice Makes Perfect..So They Say

practice makes perfect

A good ol’ dose of practicing and a whole heap of perseverance is what you need for blogging I think, especially if you’re a newbie to it all, like I am. Sometimes I just get so stuck for ideas to write about that it puts me off blogging, but I certainly aren’t gonna get myself, or my blog anywhere if I avoid blogging all together. I think the best way to deal with my blogging issue is just to simply to do it! So I’m having a good crack at it ,writing pretty much what ever is on my mind, while doing my research to find out what topics are trending in social media.

The thing I like so much about blogging is the fact that it can just about done anywhere, and also gives you the ability to create your own community, widen your social media connections and even make a few good friends along the way!

With social media the way I think to get yourself noticed is not only to persevere with your posts hoping people will follow you, but to join in the conversation, in what ever it is that takes your interest – after all, it’s called social media for a reason.

Here is an info-graphic I have found via Zintro –  http://bit.ly/MHT3Ah  It explains just how much practice we need to be perfect – 10,000 hours to be exact – So I better get a crack on with my blogging then, hey!

I look forward to all the feedback I can possibly get, so I can perhaps even learn a few tips, and hope you all can bare with me, as I’m feeling a tad rusty starting out with my blogs, and I truly appreciate all the feedback I get! 🙂  xo
