Have You Ever Wanted Something So Bad…It Hurts?

Today I’m having one of those days…

Starting out anything new is kinda scary…especially if it is totally out of your comfort zone and something you have never ever done before.

I  love writing my blogs, and I have a big heart for social media – I think it’s amazing. But my issue right now is getting more traffic to my posts. I keep asking myself what am I doing wrong, when the actual fact is that I’m not doing anything really ‘wrong’ – I’m just not reaching the right people with my posts…and it’s doing my head in!!

So, how do we overcome this anxiety of wanting something so, so badly?

Firstly, grab yourself a cuppa…may it be tea, coffee, or a nice creamy hot chocoalte…what ever feel like..

Take a deep breath…everything is ok…and you’re going well so far!! Don’t beat yourself up so much worrying about the nitty-gritty.

Have a think about how far you have come already…even if this is the very first day on your new journey..give yourself a little pat on the back for making the decision and taking action…Good for you!!

know that you really aren’t alone in your journey – connect with others following your same path and with similar interests. – Google+ Communities  and Facebook groups are a great way of connecting with like-minded people.

Look for people already successful in the niche you have chosen and learn from them – sign up to receive their email updates and follow them through social media.

…And lastly – be easy on yourself!! Success only comes from loving what you do and doing it consistently..so instead of worrying so much about things, get yourself busy making things happen for you…each and every little step you take is taking closer and closer to success..so hang in there!!

everything you are seeking is seeking you

Thank you so much for stopping by…I would love to hear from you – How do you cope on those days where you feel a little overwhelmed?

A Little Overwhelmed? Here Are Some Top Tips To Help…

Hey there awesomness!!

Getting started on something new can be super exciting, but yet at the same time a little overwhelming with so much information right at your fingertips, and not knowing where to start. I’ve experienced this myself, just recently..hence it prompting me to write this post, so I have put together some tips that you can do that should help you get into the groove of things and ease your frustration with getting started on something new.

Tips to overcome that overwhelming feeling of starting out something new….

Join a Facebook group or fan club and connect with people with similar interests.

Join a Google+ Community – there are loads of them, and people enjoy sharing ideas and will love help you out.

Look for tutorials on the internet. – There’s a “tute” (as I like to call them) for just about everything, on YouTube and on the internet.

Keep positive!! – Remind yourself regularly why you are doing this, constantly thinking of your “Why” will help to keep you motivated and pumped to keep going and not throw in the towel because you think it might be all a little too much.

Listen to Podcasts – there are loads of them on the internet and in iTunes. Podcasts are really useful when unsure of what you are doing, and perhaps wanting a little advice, like tutorials, there are stacks of Podcasts on just about any topic you can think of.

Take a browse through Pinterest – Pinterest is a great place to get a little inspired, and perhaps loose yourself just a little while you browse around dream a little!

Have you joined Twitter yet? – if not do so, and search for people with similar interests…e.g if you are starting out in social media marketing, look for twitter users to follow that tweet about social media marketing. I’ve made the majority of my social media friendships through twitter, it really is a good place to connect with like-minded peeps, once you get the hang of how to use it.

Be easy on yourself – know that you don’t have to be an instant success overnight…as much as you might so badly want to, you need to give yourself time to understand your new goal, and some days you might be on a roll and other days you might just feel a little overwhelmed again…what ever your feeling, it’s totally ok, there is no race to the finish line here. Just focus on one thing at a time if you need to, knowing that every little thing you do, will push you even closer to achieving your goals.

you have to believe

….Have I forgotten anything? Perhaps you could add something else, I would truly love to hear from you!

Thank you so much for stopping by!!  – Katrina 🙂 xx

Short inspirational video – The Real You by Alan Watts

Brilliant short video by Alan Watts.

The real you is not a puppet in which life pushes around. The real you, deep down you, is the whole universe”. ~ Alan Watts.

I, myself am a firm believer in that we are all one, no matter what skin we are in, and you, yourself have the power to pull the strings in which way you want your life to pull you, and we are not all puppets. I like to live by the saying, “the world is your oyster” – and the possibilities for us all are truly endless. – What is it that you truly want from life? What inspires you, and makes you really beam with excitement, the moment you even think about doing it? – What ever it is…keep doing it, and if you’re not already doing what you truly love and following your heart’s truest desires…What are you waiting for?? – Start now!  – Life shouldn’t be a struggle no matter what your situation is..there is always a way of turning a bad situation around. Focus on the good, not the bad, if you feel life is bad or you feel like you are in a bad situation, have a good think about what exactly that situation has taught you..and thank the universe for that lesson. None of us are perfect, and lessons are to be learnt in every single day…that’s just the joy of life!

– Do you agree?  I truly appreciate you stopping by, Love and peace to you all. Katrina xx 🙂

Disappointments Can Actually Be GOOD!!…

happy smiley face

Disappointments…We all have them, some of us more then others. But Do you let your disappointments rule your life and spoil your day? It can be so easy to let them spoil your day and get caught up with the negativity that they unfold. So I have put together a list of things to help keep those positive thoughts thriving, and not even giving those disappointments a chance to spoil your day! –

Give Thanks! – yes you might be set back a little with your disappointment, but think of the positive side, and what positive you can get from the experience. Perhaps it gives you more time to yourself, and more time to focus on your business strategy? What ever it is, you can always turn the disappointment around to be useful and actually good for you!

Focus More on You – Disappointments are usually a good time to sit back, reflect on ourselves, and focus on something you haven’t done for yourself in a while. Maybe it’s giving yourself sometime to relax, or go for a walk? What’s something you haven’t done for yourself in a long while? – Why not take this opportunity to go and do it!

Get Busy! – If you feel yourself getting overwhelmed with your disappointment, try and keep yourself busy…don’t allow it to fester and make you angry, it will only end up spoiling your day! Everything happens for a reason, and good will actually come from what ever the set back, or disappointment if you allow it. – I like to think that Disappointments are God’s way of teaching us something, and are stepping stones to something bigger and better he has planned for us.. 🙂

Building Genuine Relationships online..Just How Do You Do it?

If you are just starting out in the social media game, or if you already use social media for your personal use or business, you most likely have realized just how hard it can be to stand out of the crowd, getting  people to follow your posts and establishing a genuine relationship with people through social media. It can be a little overwhelming at first, but as long as you are passionate about your posts and what you do, it really isn’t that hard.

Here are a few tips to help you stand out, building genuine relationships with social media

Be Genuine – Let people know that you’re real. Complete your “about me page”, connect with people by commenting on their blogs, giving them your thoughts and feedback. Connect with people any which way you can through social media…and get your voice out there!

Talk!  – Engage with your readers by asking questions, and always, always, always (did I repeat that enough!) being thankful and replying to their comments, no matter what the comment may be.

Spread the word – We all want our voices heard, and the best way to do that is to read and re-post any posts that you find interesting or fun…and the more you do it, the more people will return the favor!

Inspire – Spread some inspiration with a famous quote, read up what’s fresh and new in social media and create awareness of what’s new and trending. Enter competitions, and give yourself a pat on the back by showing off your certificates or awards on your website.

Love what you do! – If your heart’s just not in it, don’t do it! – It will show clear as day in your posts,  just how much you love what you do. Words can be powerful, so be careful of your tone in your posts…you don’t want to sound like a know-it-all, when you have no proof to back up that you do, – ie no blog awards or certification to say that you’re a seasoned blogger. Also be careful not to sound drab and boring like that school teacher you had that just used to just go on, and on, and on about a subject…eventually having you tune out and falling asleep at your desk! Be fun – post some jokes here and there if you have to, and add some humor to your posts, letting your funny side shine through…have fun with your posts!

….Overall, Be a Friend! – Reach out to people, conversing with them when you can, and sticking with them. I’ve had some really great twitter friends/followers that have stuck with me ever since I joined twitter a few years ago, and it’s those loyal friends and followers that can really make a difference, and inspire you to stick with it!

Now it’s your turn…What do you think, do you agree…I would love to hear from you! 🙂

Blogging…Sometimes You’ve Just Gotta Roll With The Punches

cute boy with writers block images

Sometimes with blogging you will have your really great days, where you will get on a roll and ideas just seem to flow really easy, and other days, (I’m sure you’ll have a few of them, if you haven’t already) you will feel empty and stuck, but unfortunately you’ve really just have to take the good with the bad, and roll with it.

Here are a few ideas that might help when you’re stuck

– Try doing a Google search eg – type in social media and see what other suggestions come up.

– See what topics are trending on Facebook, Twitter, Google+ etc,…

– Have a workout!! – Some of the best ideas can come to you when you work out,  – I got the idea to write this post while I was working up a sweat on the treadmill!

– Read other blog posts – some really great ideas can come from other blogs.

– Watch or read the news and find out what’s happening in the world – Some good ideas can come from having your say on what’s happening in the news, and it allows others to have their say and voice their opinions on what you think.

– Relax and don’t stress..take a break and ‘slap hog’ (as I say) – thoughts will come!! – ideas won’t come to you when you stress out and panic over it!

What do you do when you’re stuck for ideas? – I would love to hear from you! 🙂

Not only is it yet another way of connecting with others and growing your business, it can be a really useful site to help you remain focused on all your dreams and goals, whatever they may be – whether it’s planning your next holiday, or you’re just looking for some inspiration…Pinterest is the place for it. I personally like to use Pinterest as a ‘vision board’, but be ware..once you get started pinning  on to your boards, it becomes very addictive!

Be sure to add (if you haven’t already) Pinterest to your favourites and make it a habit of using Pinterest at least once a day.  🙂

Do You Truly Enjoy What You Do?

Do you wake up in the mornings beaming and eager to start work?

Like a lot of people, you have probably answered “no” and  I’m guessing you could be feeling like work’s just a part of life to help pay the bills and get you by. I personally love what I do, and  I believe and have heard it said that real success comes from loving what you do and your work shouldn’t have to be boring. I also believe you get what out of your work what you put into it. Yeah life can be tough and a struggle at times, but those are the times to keep positive, and powering on towards your goals, whether it be planning a holiday or to buy a new car, what ever it may be, keeping that vision strong, having faith, believing  in yourself, genuinely enjoying and loving what you’re doing can and will help you to succeed.

Now I’m not going to rave on about  the importance of enjoying what you do..only just to leave you with this great quote from Steve Jobs… 🙂
